The patch made the BBEngine messages appear.
I will revert to original sql_mode, test some more.

Re showthread query error. From what I understand, the implementation of MySQL on a server may vary depending on OS and other hosting variables. I have errors logged and emailed to me, so I haven't seen anything like that.

I have a few other (smallish though necessary) fixes that I will release at some point as a minor release. You will of course receive the usual download email when I do that, and if in the meantime you encounter any problems, please let me know.
